It rained, and rained, and rained...
It rained Saturday...anywhere from 4, 5, 6 or almost 7 inches, depending on the specific rain gauge checked. A storm system with heavy rain and winds blew across central Clarke County. Some trees were downed and roads flooded but damages appeared to be minimal. At top, rain water rushes across the parking lot of the Fasttrack convenience store in Grove Hill at the height of the rainstorm. At bottom left, water backs up at the intersection of Church Street and the Orange Hill Road. Firemen were called out to hose down a tree struck by lightning near the Clarke County Museum (center) and at right a van plows through water on Jackson Street in front of Patrick's Garage. A home in Salitpa was damaged by a falling tree during the storm. See a picture inside.
