In Memory of Johnetta Edgar On Her Birthday. April 19, 1961/ August 15, 2006
God Promised he would never leave you and this he did not do. He broke our hearts in pieces, but kept his word to you, Quickly and Gently he took you by the hand and led you far from us to a much better land. On your way to the mountains, did you walk by the sea? Did you think to yourself a better place to be? Have you stood against a tree in a gown of white? As you spoke with Daddy, Did you tell him of your flight? Have you bowed before the King of Kings, heard him call your name? Have you told him here on Earth, our lives are forever changed?
