CCHS Bulldogs drop heartbreaker to Sweet Water

The Clarke County High School Bulldogs lost 6-4 to the Bulldogs of Sweet Water on the road Monday afternoon.

Josh Watford led CCHS at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and an RBI. Tyler Walker was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, a double and an RBI. Justin Fendley went 2-for-4. Adrian Snell was 1-for-2 with a double. Robert Malone, Justin Robinson, Rashad Snell and Dewayne Owens each had a hit.

Watford took the loss for Clarke County.

Last Friday the Bulldogs took to the road and suffered a 12-3 loss to the Panthers of Excel.

Terrance Frazier and R. Snell each had a double. Malone and Walker also had hits.

Daniel Powell was on the losing end of the decision.

Last Thursday Clarke County was blanked 8-0 by the Leroy Bears in Grove Hill.

Watford led CCHS at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with a double. Walker also had a double. Robinson, Frazier, Danny Norris and A. Snell each had a hit.

Malone took the loss.

The Bulldogs host Excel Thursday (today). Then on Friday they play Thomasville in the first game of the Clarke County round-robin tournament.

On Saturday the Bulldogs will play Jackson. Then the Aggies and Tigers will play after that.

Next Tuesday CCHS hits the road in the first round of the playoffs as they go to Ashland to play Clay County. The first round games are single-elimination.

The second round of the playoffs will be April 27 and 28. Each round of the playoffs from then until the championships is a best 2-of-3 series.

The results from these games will be in next week's Democrat.
