WHMS holds career fair
Alabama Southern Community College coordinated a career fair at Wilson Hall Middle School last Friday and fifth through eighth grade students visited booths set up by different businesses and services. At left, Jim Cox, editor and publisher of The Clarke County Democrat, showed Octavia Chapman the May 14, 1992 newspaper- the day she was born! Cox and Sports Editor Ross Wood talked to students about newspaper careers. At center, Lee Duke of American Mortgage in Thomasville explains mortgage rates and financing issues to students. At right, Maurice Dyess and Jim Mundie of the Clarke County Sheriff's Department warned students of the dangers of drugs and used the drug dog, Hunter, to sniff out hidden drugs.
