Lots of cases settled without trials during criminal jury term of court

Forty cases were settled during the criminal jury term in Clarke County Circuit Court April 9-13.

Those cases settled include:

Judge Thomas Baxter's docket

Billy Baker Jr., possession of controlled substance, pretrial diversion; use/possession of drug paraphernalia, pretrial diversion.

Kenneth Beck, unlawful distribution/ furnishing of controlled substance, guilty plea, one year sentence, 11 year suspended sentence, five years probation.

Jack Lee Bonner, DUI, guilty plea, $1,300 fine; driving while license suspended, guilty plea; improper tag, guilty plea.

Dean Brenton Chesbrough, DUI, withdrawn and filed.

Kaimeon Tarez Coston, possession of controlled substance, nol prossed by DA's motion.

Todd Paul Dumas, misdemeanor DUI, withdrawn and filed, misdemeanor DUI, guilty plea, five day sentence, 55 day suspended sentence, one year probation, $1,100 fine.

Marco Antonio Gaston, possession of controlled substance, dismissed; possession of marijuana, first degree, guilty plea, 276 day sentence, two year 89 day suspended sentence, three years probation.

Michael Anthony Guy, theft of property, first degree, dismissed/ nol prossed with conditions.

Tanyroa Jamon Hill, possession of controlled substance, guilty plea, one year one day suspended sentence, two years probation; use/possession of drug paraphernalia, dismissed.

Tiffany Marcia James, criminal mischief, first degree, acquitted.

Lloyd Johns Jr., criminal mischief, second degree, guilty plea, six month suspended sentence, one year probation.

Jermaine Antwan Madison, possession of controlled substance, guilty plea, one year sentence, four year suspended sentence, five years probation; giving false name to an officer, dismissed; escape, third degree, guilty plea, one year sentence, four year suspended sentence, five years probation.

Cora Lee Madison, robbery, second degree, guilty plea, 18 year sentence; burglary, third degree, dismissed; five counts possession of forged instrument, dismissed.

Elbert Dewayne Pugh, possession of controlled substance, pretrial diversion; use/possession of drug paraphernalia, pretrial diversion.

Calvin Stephens, reckless vehicle murder, guilty plea, 30 month sentence, seven year six month suspended sentence, five years probation; criminally negligent homicide, guilty plea.

Rodney Jon Wagner, possession

of anhydrous ammonia, dismissed; unlawful manufacturing of controlled substance, dismissed; receiving stolen property, guilty plea, six month sentence; use/possession of drug paraphernalia, dismissed.

Robert Williams, unlawful distribution/furnishing of controlled substance, guilty plea, 18 month sentence, 13 year six month suspended sentence, five years probation.

Judge Stuart DuBose's docket

Charles Nolan Anderson, assault, second degree, guilty plea, one year sentence, three year suspended sentence, four years probation.

Andrew James Gaston, theft of property, third degree, guilty plea, one year suspended sentence, two years probation.

Johnny Hayes, cruelty to animals, nol prossed by DA's motion.

Angela Donald Scott, theft by deception, third degree, guilty plea, six month suspended sentence, one year probation.

David Thomas, sexual abuse, first degree, guilty plea, 20 year sentence, five years probation; bribing a witness, nol prossed by DA's motion.

Shirley Ann Carr Williams, theft by deception, second degree, guilty plea, 314 day sentence, two year 51 day suspended sentence, three years probation.
