FBLA students attends conference
By Jake Paul

Six Clarke County High School students attended the Alabama Future Business Leaders of America Conference and Competition in Birmingham, April 12 and 13.

Club president Millie Buckley and Heath Horton represented CCHS and voted to elect the new Alabama FBLA president and secretary, while Kevin Harrell and club secretary Amanda Martin voted on the state vice president. Delegates listened to candidates' speeches and determined the best representatives for Alabama's FBLA executive board. John Pendleton competed in the Public Speaking I competition, and Alisha Rouse competed in the Public Speaking II competition. In addition to observing Public Speaking competitions, the students, along with sponsor Ashlie Flowers, attended several workshops that discussed how to make decisions, how to dress professionally and how to conduct a meal business meeting. This was the first time CCHS competed in the State FBLA Competitions, and we are all very proud of their accomplishments.
