Lady Gators headed to state tournament
      The Clarke Prep School Lady Gators beat Cottage Hill twice last Thursday to earn the right to play in the Class AAA AISA state softball tournament. In the first game CPS won 9-6. Kay Kay Grocholl pitched all seven innings, allowed eight hits and struck out four in getting the win.

      The Clarke County High School Lady Bulldogs hammered the Lady Indians of Southern Choctaw 16-1 last week in Grove Hill. Menetre Martin went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Nicki Harvell was 2- for-3 with an RBI. Ayesha Dickinson was 2-for-2. Nikki Williams, Abby Walker and Brittney Harvell each added a hit.
