'A good time was had by all...'
Dear Editor,

"…And a good time was had by all."

The phrase has been used by many seventh grade essay writers to wrap up an essay when they have run out of things to say. Also, many high society ladies of daysgone by have finished up a description of a tea by using this phrase. Over my few short years on earth, I have had a few occasions when I thought this phrase was true of the situation I was in. It is exciting to look around a room full of people and think, "Wow, all those who are in this room are really enjoying themselves."

Recently I was blessed to a part of one of those "a good time was had by all" experiences. On Sunday, April 29, people of the Grove Hill Baptist Church joined people of the Grove Hill United Methodist Church for an exciting time of fellowship and singing. A fifth Sunday night singing is an old tradition that has come and gone over the years at the churches of Grove Hill.

It was a truly amazing sight to see 130 plus people gathered in the Methodist church for singing, giving testimonies, quoting scripture, and enjoying food and fellowship. On Sunday night, April 29, every one who was there was visibly glad to be there.

What has gone on in the two weeks since the event? People of both churches are talking about how they can't wait until we do it again in July.
