Roberts

Clarence Raphael "Ray" Roberts, 76, of Coffeeville died May 14, 2007 at a local assisted living facility.

He was born April 12, 1931. He was a member of the Jones Chapel Church of Christ in Coffeeville. He was a general foreman in pipefitting for U.S. Mill Carrier. He was a retired pastor.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Roberts, Coffeeville; five sons, Ben Jones, Millers Ferry, Kenneth Jones, Clark Roberts, both of Jackson, Larry Jones, Laurie Roberts, both of Coffeeville; one daughter, Wanda Lovette, Coffeeville; two brothers, Marion "Smokey" Roberts, Chilton, Ernest K. Roberts, Coffeeville; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Counselman Roberts.

The service was May 16 at 10 a.m. at Jones Chapel Church of Christ in Coffeeville. Burial was in the Jones Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.

Active pallbearers were Dean Jones, Jeff Jones, Russell Roberts, Charles Reid, Zachary Roberts and Travis Glaze.

Honorary pallbearers were his sons and Sam Shields and Gary and Tony Counselman.
