CCHS Class of 1978 meets

The Clarke County High School Class of 1978 will have a meeting on Friday, June 1 at the Steakhouse in Jackson to discuss plans for its 30th year class reunion. All classmates are encouraged to come. For more information call Pervien Allen at 251-246-7769 or Terry Pugh at 251-769-7256.

CCHS Class of 1982 meets

NAACP meets

Clarke County National Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will meet Monday, June 4 at 6 p.m. and again Sunday, June 10 at 5 p.m. All members are asked to please be present at both meetings as plans will be discussed for the Juneteenth celebration to be held Saturday, June 16. Rev. W.T. Lesueur is the president.

Cville RSVP to meet

The Coffeeville RSVP will meet Tuesday, June 5 at 2 p.m. in the nutrition center. This will be the last meeting before the summer break. The meetings will begin again in September. Everyone is invited to attend and bring a friend.

Class of 1962 reunion set

The Clarke County High School Class of 1962 will have a class reunion Saturday, June 9 at 2 p.m. at Scotch Station Park located on the Asbury Road in Whatley. All class members and teachers are invited to attend. A meal will be served at 5 p.m. ($20 per person). Contact Jerry Hare at 334-636-4774 for details.

GHAC Presents a

writing workshop

The Grove Hill Arts Council presents a free writing workshop on June 16 at the Grove Hill United Methodist Church. The workshop is conducted by Professor Steve Owen. Writing Fiction will be presented at 9 a.m. and Writing Memoirs will be presented at 10:30. There will be a critique session in the afternoon for those who submit stories. Public Library launches

summer reading program

Grove Hill Public Library launches its summer reading program. Super sleuths and daring detectives are invited to join "Get a Clue @ Your Library" at the Grove Hill Public Library. The 2007 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through 5th grade, with programs, prize drawings. story hours, a reading club, and more. Program dates are June 20th, June 27th, July 18th, and July 25th. Times will be as follows for students completing Pre-K and Kindergarten 12:30-1:30, 1st and 2nd grades 1:45-2:45, and 3rd-5th grades will meet from 3- 4. Students can register anytime at the library before June 20th. All programs are free of charge.

PJC reunion set

The Patrick-Jones-Carstarphen Family Reunion will be held Friday, July 20 through Sunday, July 22 at the Jackson Assembly House. Sunday morning worship will be at the All Saints Holiness Church in Lower Peach Tree. Fees can be mailed to PJC Reunion, 19316 Sunset Drive, Warrensville Heights, Ohio 44122-6654. Family reunion planned

The immediate descendants of Tilda Olds- Pugh, the families of Arnita (Pugh) [Clarence] Robinson, Daisy (Pugh) [Jimmy] McCants, Meeta (Pugh) [H.B.] Harris, and Jim M. Pugh along with the entire Olds family will meet at the family reunion in (TBA) Alabama Friday, July 20 through Sunday, July 22. 1960 Class of Wilson Hall

The 1960 Class of Wilson Hall High School invites any one who graduated from the school to attend their 47th year class reunion. The class will be honoring Mr. A.J. Children's Summer art camp

The Mobile Museum of Art will hold a weeklong art camp in Grove Hill for children, ages 7- 12 Monday, July 30-Friday, Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. until noon with art instructors from the Mobile Museum of Art to work with oils, watercolors and other art mediums. There is a $25 registration fee. Space is limited so contact Terry L. Norris at 251-275-3816 by May 15 to register or for more information. The event is a joint effort of the Mobile Museum of Art and the Grove Hill Arts Council.

Robinson family reunion

The descendants of Manual Robinson and Wealthy Lynum Robinson will meet at the Robinson Family Reunion - Alabama 2007,

Thursday, Aug. 2-Sunday, Aug. 5. Registration material has been mailed to family members with known addresses. Diabetic support group

meets at GHMH

Diabetic Support Group will meet quarterly at the Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. Meeting dates for 2007 are Aug. 2 and Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. Diabetes Education is offered at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital by an appointment only.
