LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Innocent has to pay $250 in court costs

Dear Editor,

I admit I don't know laws. But some things just don't make any sense. If someone brings charges against you and you are found innocent, or the charges are dropped because of a lack of evidence, why do the innocent have to pay the court costs and not the person or government official that brought the false charge?

If the person bringing the charges against someone were held responsible for wasting the court's time and taking people away from their job to come to court for needless charges, it would make a lot more sense.

P.S.- If you see papers flying out the back of a garbage truck, you had better pray that no one finds the papers with your name on them. You may not have had anything to do with them flying off the truck and landing on the ground but you will have to come up with $250 in court costs!
