Carpenter Stephen Ray Carpenter, 45, of Leroy died May 22, 2007 at his residence. He was born April 7, 1962. He was a native of Jackson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leroy. He was an E & I mechanic for Weyerhaeuser Operations. Survivors include his father, Carlton Carpenter, Jackson; his mother, Carolyn Carpenter, Jackson; his wife, Tracey R. Carpenter, Leroy; two sons, Stephen Clay Carpenter, William Taylor Rawls Carpenter, both of Leroy; one daughter, Raechel Jane Carpenter, Leroy; one brother, Stacy Carl Carpenter, Jackson; one sister, Stephanie Ann Allen, Rockville; two grandparents, Mrs. Martha Powell, and Mrs. Margie Etheredge, both of Leroy.
The service was May 24 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Leroy with the Rev. James Watkins officiating. Burial was in the Leroy Baptist Church Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
