Locals chosen to play in AISA all-star fest

Tess Ackerman
The All Star event will be held at Lagoon Park in Montgomery, Ala. on June 12th at 6 p.m. (CST) in conjunction with the AISA Coaches Clinic. This year's game will be a doubleheader that includes juniors and seniors. There will be a maximum of 15 players on each team. Each position will play a minimum of three innings. Each pitcher must pitch one inning, but not to exceed three innings.

Clarke Prep School's Tess Ackerman and Corrie Allen are two juniors named to the all-star team.

Evin Bowling from Jackson was named to the team as well.

2007 All Star Baseball

The All Star event will be held at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, AL on June 11th at 5 p.m. (CST) in conjunction with the AISA Coaches Clinic.

Juniors J.D. Powell and Taylor Becton will be on the National Junior team.

Seniors Clay Furrow and Wesley Morgan are going to be on the American Senior team.

Josh Andrews and Brandon Gilpin are on the National Senior team.

The AISA has not had an allstar event for baseball or softball in the past few seasons, but with the addition of the juniors to the game, organizers hope to create a renewed interest in the game for the players. They are also hoping to attract college coaches to the games as well, helping students earn scholarships.
