Field named for Mayor
The Fulton Town Council dedicated the New Ball Field in honor of Mike Norris on Sunday, May 27, 2007. The ceremony was opened by Jennifer Stephens as she welcomed and thanked everyone for coming. Kim Averitt, Frank Martin and Paul Newton were council members present along with approximately 30 citizens from Fulton and surrounding areas. Several of Mike's family members were present. Dr. John Copeland, pastor of First Baptist Church Fulton, led in prayer asking for God's blessings on the occasion. Kim Averitt read the resolution passed by the Council declaring the field as "Mike Norris Ball Field." Mrs. Averitt presented Mike with a plaque commemorating the occasion. The first pitch was thrown by Mike to Mrs. Stephens.
