Old photos sought

Remember the old photo book that the Democrat published last year that was so popular?

The newspaper is gathering old Clarke County pictures again for an Old Photo Contest. The pictures will be published in a special section July 19 and prizes awarded in three categories.

The categories include People, Activities and Events, and Buildings and Scenes.

Winners in each category will receive a copy of the photo book, Clarke County, Alabama: A Pictorial History. Second place winners will receive a local subscription to the Democrat.

Pictures should be submitted by June 29.

Anything from old tin type photos to pictures as recent as the 1960s and '70s are welcomed. Bring them by the Democrat at 261 North Jackson Street, Grove Hill. The photos will be returned unharmed.
