Overton Leonard Wayne Overton, 69, of Thomasville died May 30, 2007 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born June 2, 1937 in Grove Hill. He was a member of Goodhope Baptist Church. He had worked as a millwright. Survivors include his wife, Martha Ann Overton, Thomasville; his mother, Hettie Mae Overton, Thomasville; two sons, David Wayne Overton, Grove Hill, Steven Greg Overton, Thomasville; one daughter, Cynthia Ann Goodreau, Moss Point, Miss.; three brothers, Harold Overton, Thomasville, Willie Overton, Fulton, James Overton, Grove Hill; one sister, Katherine Defee, Prattville; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild. The service was June 1 at 10 a.m. with Revs. Mark Lambert and Bill Faircloth officiating. Burial was in the Kelley Cemetery in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed. Active pallbearers were Wayne Luker, Dan Jackson, Joe Jackson, Glenn Harvell, Dustin Rice and Jamie Overton.
Honorary pallbearers were Royce Council, Julius Johnson, Robert Shaw and Frank Jackson.
