Calhoun

Thomas Edwin Calhoun, 79, of Lakeview, Ala., died June 2, 2007.

He was a veteran of World War II

and the Korean Conflict.

He was a member

of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church where he served in many areas and a former member of the Tarrant Rock United Methodist Church.

He as preceded in death by his parents, Bennett Moore Calhoun and Opal Busby Calhoun. He was the grandson of Edwin Orlando Calhoun and Minnie Palmer Calhoun of Grove Hill.

He and his wife, Ernette Cantrell Calhoun, had attended the Whatley-Calhoun family reunion in Grove Hill the afternoon before he died.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Steve (Gwen) Calhoun, Ellijay, Ga., Rick (Lesa) Calhoun, Tarrant, David (Jerri Lynn) Calhoun and Paul (Heather) Calhoun, Lakeview; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other relatives.

The funeral was held Tuesday, June 5 in Ridout's Roebuck Chapel Funeral Home. Burial was with full military honors in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
