Coach-pitch all-stars win sub-district tournament

The all-stars celebrate getting first place.
The Grove Hill Coach-pitch Allstars won the sub-district tournament in Grove Hill Tuesday night with an 11-7 victory over Monroeville.

Vann Wilson, Heath Helms, Cameron Gates and Edward Skipper went 2-for-2. Tony Lewis, Keagan Guthrie and Dallas Todd each went 2-for-3. Bryce Lolley, Latavian Washington, Rashon Horn and Dillon Smith each had one hit. Reece Powell and Trey McConnell had one RBI each and added great defensive play.

Grove Hill opened the sub-district tournament Friday, June 8, with a win over the Wilcox Allstars by a score of 17-6.

Bryce Lolley, Dillon Smith, Dallas Todd and Latavian Washington each went 3-3 with Latavian hitting a homerun. Tony Lewis, Rashon Horn and Keagan Guthrie all went 2-3. Heath Helms went 2-2. Vann Wilson, Reece Powell, Cameron Gates and Edward Skipper each got 1 hit.

Grove Hill won their second game of the sub-district tournament over the Monroeville All-stars 12- 11 with a thrilling last inning defensive stand. For Grove Hill, Tony Lewis went 3-3, Edward Skipper went 2-2, Rashon Horn, Bryce Lolley, Dallas Todd and Latavian Washington went 2-3, Keagan Guthrie, Dillon Smith, Vann Wilson, Reeve Powell, Heath Helms, Cameron Gates and Trey McConnell each had a hit.

The all-stars now go to Sweet Water Friday, June 15 for the district tournament at 8 p.m..
