Bring old photos to historical society meet

Old photographs will be the topic for the Clarke County Historical Society's June meeting and attendees are invited to bring theirs to share with the group.

Jim Cox, editor and publisher of The Clarke County Democrat, will talk about old photographs he has collected including the photos published last year in "A Pictorial History: Clarke County, Alabama."

The Democrat is hosting an Old Photo Contest now and the pictures will be printed in a special section next month.

If you have old photographs relating to Clarke County, bring them to share and to let The Democrat publish in its special edition. Anything from pre-Civil War tintypes to "new" old pictures of the '60s and '70s are welcomed. Photos of people, scenes and activities are solicited.

The meeting will be Sunday, June 24 at 2:30 p.m. at the Grove Hill Town Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
