Glass

Walter Glass Jr., 85, of Thomasville died June 12, 2007 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville.

He was born Oct. 1, 1921 in Linden. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired superintendent with the State Highway Department.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia

Thomasville; two sons, John Glass, Grove Hill, Jimmy (Nancy) Glass, Nanafalia; three daughters, Carol (Cecil) Hill, Kaye (Danny) Harrison, all of Thomasville, Judy McLean, Montgomery; one brother, Leon (Sarah) Glass, Linden; one sister, Betty (Paul) Gunter, Monroeville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The service was June 14 at 10 a.m. with Revs. Bill Faircloth and David Grayson officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were Mike Gunter, Jason Robertson, Dwayne Gates, Randy Gates, Terry Gates and Dennis Drinkard.

Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Liberty Baptist Church, Willard Gates, Tiny Drinkard, Jackie Jarman, Mitt Gates, Clyde Drinkard and Don Jordan.
