ASWA names all-state softball teams Area softball players were honored by the Alabama Sports Writers Association last week when the all-state team was released. Clarke Prep School's Corrie Allen was named to the first team in the AISA at third base. Her teammate, Tess Ackerman was named honorable mention as a designated hitter. Jackson Academy's Bailey Pringle, pitcher and Evin Bowling, catcher were named honorable mention. Other area AISA players honored were: first team - P - Ashley Stokes, Marengo Acad., Jr.; OF - Kylie Lewis, Patrician, Sr. Honorable Mention - Pitcher: Shayna Jimmerson, Patrician, Jr.; First Base: Arielle Campbell, South Choctaw Acad., Sr.; Second base: Brooke Miller, Marengo Acad., Sr.; Utility: Michelle Pritchett, Marengo Acad., So. Thomasville's Dominique Watters was named first team utility in Class 4A. Nicole Washington was named honorable mention as an outfielder. In Class 2A Jennifer Overstreet, Leroy, was an honorable mention outfielder. Millry's Kristen Skinner was named Class 1A Pitcher of the Year as she averaged 14.98 strikeouts per game pitched, the highest total in the state. Jessica Ganus was named first team outfielder.
Jessica Touchstone was an honorable outfielder.
