11 & 12-year-old softball all-stars lose in district tourney

After winning their opening round game Friday, the Grove Hill 11 & 12-year-old softball all-star team dropped two games Saturday to be eliminated.

In their final game they were edged 3-2 by arch-rival Thomasville in Gilbertown.

Lake Lolley had two hits including a double. Jordan Hollins had an RBI-double. Moliie Paul, Rachel Brownlee and Olivia House each had a hit. Kiley Dunagan had an RBI.

Earlier in the day Grove Hill lost 8-0 to Linden.

Meg Sheffield had a triple. Rachel Brownlee added a hit.

The all-stars beat Sumter 6-5 Friday night to open their tournament.

Lindsay McKenzie had two hits, including a double and two RBI. Mollie Paul had two hits. Rachel Brownlee had a hit and scored two runs. Jordan Hollins had a double and scored two runs. Meg Sheffield had a triple and scored a run. Olivia House added a triple. Julie Overton had an RBI.

Lindsey McKenzie got the win and Kiley Dunagan earned the save.
