Counselman named to UM post

Phillip Terry Counselman of Opelika has been named assistant professor of art at The University of Mobile beginning in the fall of 2007. He has previously been the instructor of Art at Winston-Salem State University and Tuskegee University.

Counselman is a graduate of Catherine Academy and Alabama Southern. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mobile; Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina.

He is married to Cortney Adams Counselman and they have one daughter, Olivia.

He is the son of Terry and Anne Counselman of Thomaston.
