Mt. Olive music workshop

Mt. Olive #2 Missionary Baptist Church located at 105 Griffin Street in Jackson will continue its church music workshop Thursday, (tonight), July 12. The youth workshop will be from 4:30-6:45 p.m. and the adult workshop will be from 6:50- 8:45 p.m. A workshop concert service will be Sunday, July 15 at 5 p.m. The first half of the program will be the youth workshop and the second half will be the adult workshop. Registration fee will be $10 for adults and $5 for youth. The directors will be Bro. Steffon McCovery of Mobile and Sis. Sheron McCoy of Thomasville and Bro. Tommy "D.J." Jackson of Birmingham.

Truvine continues revival

Truvine Baptist Church of Dickinson will continue its revival Thursday, (tonight), July 12 and end Friday, July 13 at 7 p.m. nightly. The speaker for the week will be Rev. Cleo McGrew and his church family are special guests. Sis. Joyce Arnold is the secretary. Rev. Roderick Scott is the pastor.

Union Grove Bible school

Union Grove Baptist Church located on Highway 69 near Coffeeville will have an Avalance Ranch Bible School will continue its Bible school Thursday, (tonight), July 12 and end Friday, July 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. nightly. All ages from 2 and up are welcomed. If you think you are too old to be a young buckaroo then you may be a wrangler. There is a job for you. Dickinson Baptist revival

Dickinson Baptist Church will have revival July 14 and 15. The guest speaker will be Bro. Donnie Guy of Gulfport, Miss. Revival will begin with a finger food fellowship at 6 p.m. Part one of a three part message on "Bible Prophecy" will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 15 Sunday school will be at 10 a.m. Part two of Bro. Guy's message will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served afterwards with an afternoon singing featuring the Glory Road Quartet. Part three of Bro. Guy's message will be Sunday at 6 p.m. Rev. James Parnell is the pastor.

District fellowship meeting

of AOH churches

Apostolic Overcoming Holy Churches of God Inc. announce the district fellowship meeting will be Saturday, July 14 at 7 p.m. at the Sunflower A.O.H. Church of God located on McFadden Avenue in Thomasville. Overseer Amos Jones is the district overseer. Elder S.L. Calhoun is the pastor.

Mackey Branch special

Mackey Branch #2 Missionary Baptist Church of Whatley will celebrate its Annual Appreciation Day for its musician, Sister Jennifer Hollins and Deacon Warren Taylor Saturday, July 14 at 7 p.m. All choirs, groups and soloists are invited. Wilson Chapel anniversary

Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church will celebrate its annual church anniversary Sunday, July 15 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Clausell Boykin Sr. of the St. James A.M.E. Church of Jackson will bring the anniversary message. Rev. Levi H. Marshall is the host pastor.

First Baptist of Fulton

will hold revival

First Baptist Church of Fulton will have revival beginning Sunday, July 15 through Wednesday, July 18. Sunday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m. Nursery will be provided. Bro. Danny Lanier, evangelist.

Wayman Chapel special

Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church located at 2877 Morning Star Road in Whatley (Suggsville) will have its annual Family and Friends Day Celebration Sunday, July 15 at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Johnny Lynum and congregation, pastor of Indian Ridge Baptist Church of Whatley. Lizzie Brownlee is the secretary. Rev. Prospere Sainvilus is the pastor.

Bishop to visit St. Peter

St. Peter's Episcopal Church will have a special visitor, The Rt. Rev. Philip Duncan, bishop of the Central Gulf Coast Diocese on Sunday, July 15 at 11 a.m. followed by lunch. Rev. Buck Belmore is the priest in charge.

Pine Chapel pastor's anniversary

Pine Chapel Church #2 of Toddtown will celebrate its pastor's seventh year anniversary of Rev. Frederick Thompson Sr., Sunday, July 15 at 3 p.m. Rev. Robert Emmanuel, pastor of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church and his congregation will be the special guests.

Grace Baptist Bible school

Grace Baptist Church will have vacation Bible school for children, ages 2 through sixth grade Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20 from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. The theme will be Jungle Juant.

James Chapel homecoming

James Chapel Baptist Church of Barlow Bend will have its annual homecoming program Sunday, July 22 at 12 p.m. Elder Johnnie E. Clarke, a member of The Body of Christ Ministry of Atlanta, Ga. will deliver the homecoming message. Sister Kathy Bryant is the clerk. Deacon Calvin Jackson is the secretary. Rev. Osbry Millender is the pastor.

Pineview homecoming

Pineview Baptist Church will have a concert Saturday, July 28 at 6 p.m. featuring the Kingsmen Quartet. The church is located on Highway 43 South in Thomasville at Moore Street (near WJDB radio station). Add legendary bass singer Ray Reese to three men of outstanding vocal talent, complement them with a live band and put them in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, and what do you get? The award winning Kingsmen Quartet. Vocals for the Kingsmen are provided by Ray Reese, varitone Tony Peace, lead Phillip Hughes and tenor Jeremy Peace. Band members include Brandon Reese, Nick Succi and Grant Barker. Reese has spent 37 years with the Kingsmen Quartet. He was voted America's Favorite Bass Singer in 1979 and 1985, and he was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2000. Tickets are $10 each for ages four and above. Mt. Gilead homecoming

Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Carlton will host its annual homecoming program Sunday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. Worship will be at 11 a.m. Rev. Clayton Davis Sr. of Whatley, pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church of Walker Springs and St. Johns Baptist Church of Gainestown will be the guest speaker. Rev. L.E. Bush is the pastor.

Wilson Chapel Bible school

Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church's Vacation Bible School is scheduled for Monday, July 30 through Friday, Aug. 3 at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. nightly. All youth in the Grove Hill area and other surrounding communities are invited to attend. Vanesta Ambrose is the youth director. Rev. Levi H. Marshall is the pastor.

first anniversary

The new Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville will celebrate its pastor, Rev. Donald Reed's first year anniversary Sunday, Aug. 5 at 2:30 p.m. The special guests will be Rev. Rochelle Wright and the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Forest, Miss.
