Singing the blues in Coffeeville
Two noted blues singers performed Saturday evening at the first annual Coffeeville Music Festival. Here, Pat Ramsey and the Blues Disciples perform. Ramsey, of Tallahassee, Fla. is known for his "incendiary" harmonica work and has been called "a harp player's harp player." Afterwards, blues soul singer Steve Perry rocked the crowd of several hundred to conclude the evening. Earlier in the day, local gospel artists had entertained. Rain delayed the outdoor performances at times but they went on anyway. The festival was hosted on the large lawn of the home of Dr. Edwina Hart. Hart and other volunteers worked hard to put the show on and she said it was done to help promote and highlight the town.
