Reeves-Wade exchange vows in Jackson

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Leon Wade
Jody Renee Reeves and Walter Leon Wade were united in marriage on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 4 in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Jackson.

The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Bro. Stacey Harrell of Greenville.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wayne Reeves and Kim Wade, all of Jackson and Leon Wade of Grove Hill.

The front doors of the church were decorated with ribbon and tulle covered wreaths. Two topiaries of red and white carnations and various greenery were placed beside the doors. A large arrangement of fresh cut red roses, white Fuji mums, red carnations, white gladiolus, snaps, lilies, Queen Ann's lace and greenery was placed in the church. Boston ferns banked the choir loft and altar. The flowers were placed in memory of the late grandmother of the bride, Imogene Reeves and the late grandparents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Royce Wade.

A table in the foyer held the bride's book and programs and was attended by Katie Higginbotham of Jackson. Fallon Wade, sister of the groom of Jackson, gave programs to the guests.

"The Wedding Song" by Kenny G and Walter Afanasieff was played during the seating of the grandmothers; "In This Very Room" by Ron and Carol Harris was played during the seating of the mothers. Hannah Rose played "Canadian Waltz" on the violin prior to the attendants entering to "Canon in D" by Johann Pachelbel. Music accompaniment was by Flora Ginwright.

The bride, escorted by her father, entered to the "Bridal Chorus" by Richard Wagner.

She wore a formal gown of white taffeta designed by Allure Couture Bridals. Hand-sewn bugle beads and mirror sequins on silver threaded embroidery decorated the strapless neckline and dropped waistline. The beaded embroidery was repeated on the hemline of the a-line skirt. The back of the gown featured covered buttons and crystals and an attached semi cathedral length train. The bride's veil of white tulle was attached to a tiara. She carried a bouquet of red roses accented with baby's breath and hand-tied with white satin ribbon.

Serving as maid of honor was Malorie Rogers of Jackson.

Attending the bride were Brooke Dunagan of Meridian, Miss., Molly Grimes of Opp, Meagan Skipper and Jenilee Slayton, both of Jackson and Haley Wilson of Jasper. They wore red strapless, floor length a-line dresses and carried bouquets of white roses.

The flower girl was cousin of the bride Danielle Holt of Mobile. She wore a white satin dress with organza overlay accented by a red sash. She carried a basket of red rose petals.

Willie Williams of Jackson served as the best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Creel, Jared Jones, Andy Mosley, Brian Moseley and Shaw White, all of Jackson. Ring bearer was brother of the groom, Trey Wade of Grove Hill.

Ushers were brothers of the bride Jason Reeves and Jeremy Reeves, both of Jackson. They read the Scripture during the ceremony.

"Always" by Atlantic Star was sung by Christy Beech and Kenny Walker during the lighting of the unity candle. The recessional for the bride and groom was to the "Wedding March" by Felix Mendelssohn.

The wedding directors were Anita Higginbotham and Vickie Harrison.

Reception

A reception was conducted at the H.W. Pearce Memorial Park Assembly House.

Candle globes with tea lights were placed along the entrance walkway. Ferns hung throughout the patio area. Tables with white cloths and red toppers were placed throughout the patio and reception area. White cut flowers of Fuji mums and gladiolus in glass vases centered each table.

Ficus trees accented with tiny white lights and ferns were placed in the dining area. Two arrangements of fresh cut flowers were placed on the mantle.

A dance floor was cornered with white columns, Boston ferns and white lights.

Buffet tables held a variety of foods including chicken wings, sausage balls, bacon wrapped sausage, barbecued meatballs, finger sandwiches, cheese ring, chicken and corned beef balls, cheese straws, heartshaped tea cakes, chocolate covered strawberries, spinach, corn and bacontomato dips with assorted crackers and chips, and fruits and vegetables. Punch of white grape juice and ginger ale was served from a silver fountain.

The bride's cake, decorated with buttercream icing and scroll decorations, was placed on a silver cake plateau and was decorated with red rose petals. It was accompanied by butter mints, nuts and personalized M&Ms.

A red velvet cake with camouflage icing and a "W" monogram for Wade was served from the groom's table. It was decorated with an assortment of hunting supplies.

The bride and groom danced their first dance to "When I Said I Do." The bride and her father danced to "I Loved Her First" accompanied by a slide show of childhood to wedding day photos, made by her father. The groom and his mother danced to "A Song for Mama."

The couple honeymooned at Gatlinburg Falls Resort in Gatlinburg, Tenn. and are residing in Jackson.

Rehearsal Dinner

A rehearsal dinner was hosted at the Jackson Golf House by the groom's family. Special guests attending were parents and grandparents of the couple and the wedding party and their dates. A Hawaiian luau theme was used throughout the room.

Fried catfish, shrimp, oysters, chicken strips, hush puppies, new potatoes, green beans, slaw, bread and sweet tea were served. Deserts included turtle trifle, lemon crunch and chocolate pound cakes.

The bride and groom's table held two arrangements of fresh cut flowers of yellow lilies, red gerbera daisies, purple statice, yellow orchid stems, yellow freesia, purple lisianthus and yellow daisy palms. The guests' tables were also centered with similar arrangements.

The bride and groom chose this time to thank friends and family and present gifts to members of the wedding party.
