A big Yankee cabbage!
Melvin Jones, of Crystal, Indiana, holds a 14-pound, 9-ounce cabbage. Jones is a cousin of Grove Hill's Bobby Smith. Smith and his wife, Sharon, traveled to Crystal, located between Jasper, Indiana and French Lick, Indiana for a family reunion on June 30. Smith said his cousin had grown several large cabbage and the one pictured was not the largest of the lot. Smith's mother, Sarah Smith who lives in Jackson, is originally from that part of Indiana.
