North Clarke all-stars advancing

The North Clarke 14-year-old all-stars have assured themselves a spot in the South substate tournament in Enterprise as they beat Fairhope 15-0 Monday night in Jackson in District play.

Darius Bowen pitched three innings, striking our four and walking none to get the win. Jake Dukes pitched the last two innings, fanning two.

DeAndre' Love had a single, double and home run. He just needed a triple to complete hitting for the cycle. Love also had four RBI and scored four runs. Jacob Horton had a single, a home run and three RBI. Bowen added an RBI double. Will Wiggings had a home run and an RBI. Zatrix Taylor had a hit and an RBI. Brett Green added a hit. Harrison Lewis added an RBI.

The win set North Clarke up with a rematch with Jackson on Tuesday night. In order to win the championship North Clarke would have to beat Jackson two times. Jackson eliminated Daphne 9-1.

North Clarke opened the District tournament by beating Saraland 13-3 last Friday night.

Windham Jackson had a single and two homers as well as 5 RBI to pace the team at the plate. Wiggins had a double and two RBI. Bowen and Horton each had two hits and an RBI. Brett Skelton added two RBI.

Skelton pitched four innings and fanned eight to get the win. He allowed three runs on five hits. Bowen pitched the final inning.

Last Saturday North Clarke blanked Fairhope 19-0 in the second of the tourney.

Love earned the win as he struck out 12 over five innings of work. Bowen pitched a perfect last inning.

Bowen had a hoot bat as he just missed hitting for the cycle with a single, double and triple as well as two RBI. Horton had two hits and four RBI. Love had an RBI double. Skelton had a single, double and an RBI. Lewis had a hit and an RBI. Jackson and Michael Thompson each added a hit.

North Clarke suffered their first loss of the tournament last Sunday in a 13-3 decision against Jackson.

Windham Jackson had a homer, an RBI and scored two runs. Green also had a home run and an RBI. Wiggins also had a hit.

Brandon Cade took the loss as he lasted two frames. Horton and Bowen also pitched in the game.

The sub-state tournament will be held in Enterprise and begins on Friday, July 20.
