Area Church Announcements Musicians Appreciation The Full Gospel Apostolic Church of God of St. Stephens will have its Musicians Appreciation Saturday, July 21 at 7 p.m. and end Sunday, July 22 at 2 p.m. The guest speaker for Saturday night will be Elder Larry McLaurin and the New True Light Baptist Church of Kornton. The speaker for Sunday will be Elder Dwight Dunning and the Holy Ghost Temple Church of God of Millry. Musicians are Deacon Jack Law, Bro. Nataki Law, Bro. Willie Ray Poole Jr. and Bro. Druvante Love. James Chapel homecoming James Chapel Baptist Church of Barlow Bend will have its annual homecoming program Sunday, July 22 at 12 p.m. Elder Johnnie E. Choir workshop set The El Shaddai AOH Church of God will have the 2007 Youth and Young Adult Community Choir Workshop Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. nightly, Saturday, July 28 at 10 a.m. and ending with a concert on Sunday, July 29 at 7 p.m. All church youth groups of all ages are invited to participate. New Home concert New Home Church near Monroeville will have a concert featuring "The Proclaimers Quartet" of Columbus, Ga., Friday, July 27. Barbeque pork and chicken plates will be served beginning at 5 p.m. at $6 which includes two vegetables and a desert. Carry-outs will be available. Pineview homecoming Pineview Baptist Church will have a concert Saturday, July 28 at 6 p.m. featuring the Kingsmen Quartet. The church is located on Highway 43 South in Thomasville at Moore Street (near WJDB radio station). Add legendary bass singer Ray Reese to three men of outstanding vocal talent, complement them with a live band and put them in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, and what do you get? The award winning Kingsmen Quartet. Vocals for the Kingsmen are provided by Ray Reese, varitone Tony Peace, lead Phillip Hughes and tenor Jeremy Peace. Band members include Brandon Reese, Nick Succi and Grant Barker. Reese has spent 37 years with the Kingsmen Quartet. He was voted America's Favorite Bass Singer in 1979 and 1985, and he was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2000. Tickets are $10 each for ages four and above. Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church will award four $500 scholarships at its Annual Homecoming Service on Aug. 19. Two scholarships will be awarded in the name of the late Bernard Martin and is being sponsored by his family and friends. The other two scholarships are sponsored by Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church. The Bernard Martin scholarship is open to any high school graduate or college student in the Mt. Zion, Winn, St. Luke, or Grove Hill area. The Mt.
