Promise Theatre and Performing Arts Center in cooperation with the Grove Hill Arts Council presents "Everyman, The Musical" at Clarke County's Cultural Arts Center, the Historic Locke Theatre Friday, July 20 at 7 p.m. The show is scheduled again for Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. All tickets are ten dollars and can be purchased at local banks.

This is the first production for Promise Theater and the first for many of the young actors. The diverse cast and crew consist of students from Clarke, Washington and Monroe counties.

The musical is under the direction of Kim Tooks, member of the Grove Hill Arts Council. Larry Williams serves as the music director.

Antheus Ezell plays the role of Everyman, a superficial sensualist and materialist who, at the existential moment when he must confront the reality of impending death, undergoes a radical and convincing psychological transformation. This story becomes not only a parable of all men's lives but a moving and personal study in one man's experience. Ezell is a graduate of Jackson High School and is currently enrolled at the University of South Alabama, majoring in media.

Camila Forte' of Thomasville High School plays the wife of Everyman and Andrea Chapman of Jackson Middle School is the mama of Everyman.

Hannah Brown acts as Good Deeds and Tyler Chavers is Good Times. Both Brown and Chavers are students at Monroe County High School.

Cody Johnson, a student from Clarke County High School, portrays Knowledge in the play. Morgan Hurst of Jackson High School plays as Money.

John Thornton is cast as the Preacher, Hannah Hicks plays as Beauty, and John Sims has the part of El Diablo. Thornton, Hicks and Sims are all three students at Thomasville High School.

Leigh McKinley of Clarke County High School, Sean Tooks and Ryan Johnson, both of Leroy High School work as managers and technical support for the production.

The cast and crew of "Everyman, The Musical" has been rehearsing for weeks for their Friday night debut, and will definitely deliver a crowd pleasing performance.
