Grove Hill moves forward with erosion project

The Grove Hill Town Council approved Monday that Mayor Lamar Hudson signing an agreement with the Natural Resources Conservation Service of Auburn to halt erosion in the big gully off Cobb Street.

The town was approved for $30,000 in financial assistance through the Emergency Watershed Protection Program.

In other action from Monday's meeting, the council approved the donation of $500 to the local Anti-litter Committee.

• The council approved buying advertisements in the Clarke County High School football program (full page ad) and the Old Photo Contest section of The Clarke County Democrat (half page ad).

• The council approved a building permit for David and Cathy Dunagan at 182 Foscue Avenue. The property owners are rebuilding their house that burned, the mayor said.
