Pinocchio musical July 19-21

A Saturday evening show has been added to the Ballet & Theatre Arts Performing Companies (BTAPC) of Gilbertown production of "No Strings Attached," a musical adaptation of the "Pinocchio" story, July 19-21.

The production involves the enchanting story of the old woodcarver Geppetto and his marionette son Pinocchio come to life in this musical adaptation of clever characters and lessons to be learned.

Curiosity and temptation keep getting Pinocchio into trouble when he meets up with the puppet Master, Sly Foxx, Klever Katt, String Bean, the Donkey Children, and the Terrible Shark. Discover how a talking cricket and a magical friend help Pinocchio learn the importance of obedience, respect and truth.

The cast includes young people from Choctaw, Clarke, Marengo and Washington Counties in Alabama as well as some cast members from Mississippi.

Curtain is at 8 p.m. each evening except July 21, when there will be 2:30 and 8 p.m. performances. The theatre is located at 253 College Street in Gilbertown near the Alabama Southern College campus. Call 1-251-843-5138 for reservations and information.
