Matthews-McCants plan Aug. 18 ceremony

Mr. and Mrs. James Davis Thompson of Gardendale announce the engagement of their daughter, Ali Michelle Matthews, to Christopher Coleman McCants of Thomasville, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Robert McCants Jr. of Jackson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Maude Schnittker of Gardendale and the late Joe Schnittker and James and Mary Thompson of Adamsville.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Chet and Rebekah Noble of Jackson and the late John Robert McCants Sr. and the late Ruby McCants of Jackson.

Miss Thompson is a graduate of Faulkner University where she earned a business administration degree. She is employed at Brooks Chevrolet.

Mr. McCants is a graduate of the University of Mobile where he earned a business of science degree in environmental management. He is employed as an agent at State Farm Insurance.

The wedding will be an event of Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Thomasville Baptist Church.

All family and friends are invited to attend.
