Area coaches honored in Hunstville by statewide high school association

Championship coaches in all sports were saluted recently in Huntsville during the annual Awards Luncheon of the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association (AHSADCA). Championship Awards were presented to AHSADCA-member coaches whose teams won state titles during the 2006-07 school year. Among those honored were Stacy Luker from Sweet Water and Danny Powell from Leroy in football. Powell also was recognized as his Bears also won the 2A baseball crown. McIntosh's girls basketball coach, Renard Davis, was honored as well. Former Clarke County High School girls coach June Seals won in Class 6A as she led Sparkman to the state crown.

Huntsville has been hosting the annual all-star sports week for the past four years.
