Beverly

Gilmer Beverly, 91, of Thomasville died July 21, 2007 at Camden Nursing Facility.

He was born Dec. 2, 1915. He was a member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church, the

VFW Post #5106 of Thomasville, Clarke

County Historical

Society and a volunteer for the Salvation Army. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a retired wholesale grocery salesman.

Survivors include his wife, Mary D. Beverly, Thomasville; one son, Chris D. Beverly, Thomasville; seven nephews and nieces.

The service was July 24 at 11 a.m. at the Thomasville United Methodist Church with Rev. Philip Craddock officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Thomasville United Methodist Church Organ Fund or to the United Methodist Children's Home in Selma.

Active pallbearers were Ed Arrington, Greg Cotten, Truitte Jackson, Mike Rowell, Jon Jordan, Mitch Beverly and Byron Beverly.

Honorary pallbearers were the Thomasville United Methodist Church Men's Bible Class, Interdenominational Prayer Group and A.L. "Red" Sims, Dr. Frank Dozier, John Adams and Carroll Scarbrough.
