The North Clarke 14-year-old All-Star Team was eliminated from further competition in the Dixie Boys State Tournament on Saturday, July 21, when they fell to Troy 15 -5.

The loss was their second in as many days in the event being held in Enterprise. Their first loss in the double elimination format came on Friday, July 20, when they were shut out by the Montgomery American squad 5- 0.

In the loss to Montgomery American, the North Clarke offense was stymied by the pitching of Josh Watkins who held the Clarke County team to two hits, two walks, and one hit batsman while striking out 14 in seven innings of work. DeAndre Love and Will Wiggins picked up North Clarke's only hits with each recording a single.

DeAndre Love started on the mound for North Clarke allowing one unearned run on two hits and one walk while striking out one in three innings. Darius Bowen pitched the final four innings allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five. Love was tagged with the loss despite pitching well during his stint on the mound.

In Saturday's loss to Troy, four North Clarke pitchers went to the mound trying to quell the offensive barrage. DeAndre Love, who was the starter and eventual loser, pitched the first two innings in which he allowed 10 runs on eight hits while striking out three. Jake Dukes followed him for a partial inning, giving up two runs on three hits. Next to take the hill was Brett Skelton allowing two runs on three hits in three innings. Windham Jackson was the final pitcher to answer the call, allowing one run on two hits while recording one strike out in 1/3 inning.

At the plate, the North Clarke offense picked up seven hits with Brett Skelton setting the pace with three. Joining him with one hit each were Darius Bowen, Jacob Horton, Windham Jackson, and Will Wiggins. Bowen led the charge in extrabase hits with a triple while Jackson and Wiggins both added a double. In the RBI category Brett Green, Horton and Jackson all had one hit.
