Union Baptist Church located on Highway 84 and 69 in Coffeeville will continue revival Thursday (tonight), Aug. 2 and will end Friday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Obadiah Clemon will be the evangelist for the week. Homecoming will be held Sunday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. Rev. Jerome Bell will be the speaker. Rev. Vayton Chapman is the pastor.

Wilson Chapel

continues Bible school

Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church's Vacation Bible School continues Thursday, (tonight), Aug. 2 and end Friday, Aug. 3 at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. nightly. All youth in the Grove Hill area and other surrounding communities are invited to attend. Vanesta Ambrose is the youth director. Rev. Levi H. Marshall is the pastor.

Blessed Voices'

second year

Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Walker Springs will have its second year celebration of The Blessed Voices Saturday, Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m. The theme will be "We Made It." Special guest groups will be The Anointed Angels, Ed Davis and The Golden Tones, The Divine Sisters of Faith and the J.D. Gospel Singers. The guest choir will be from the St. Luke Church of Grove Hill.

All groups, choirs and soloists are invited. Rev. Willie Powell will be the Master of Ceremony. Bishop Theodore Law will be the guest speaker. Rev. Mulvoy Taylor Jr. is the pastor.

Union Baptist pastor's

first anniversary

The new Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville will celebrate its pastor, Rev. Donald Reed's first year anniversary Sunday, Aug. 5 at 2:30 p.m. The special guests will be Rev. Rochelle Wright and the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Forest, Miss. Rev. Donald Reed is the pastor.

Ulcanush homecoming

Ulcanush Baptist Church will have homecoming service Sunday, Aug. 5 with the morning worship at 11 a.m. and a covered dish dinner to follow. An afternoon worship service of singing will be at 1:30 p.m. featuring Glory Road Quartet. A revival will begin Monday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. nightly. Bro. Butch Starks of Coffeeville will be the revival preacher. The week will be full of evangelism, teaching and preaching with Rev. Eddie "Butch" Starks. Larry and Carol Cox are worship leaders and Diane Dunagan is the pianist. Bro. Jessie Griffith is the pastor.

Bashan Baptist

fall revival

Bashan Baptist Church will have its fall revival services Sunday, Aug. 5 beginning with morning worship at 11 a.m. and a covered dish dinner to follow. An afternoon worship service will be around 1:30 p.m. instead of the nightly service. Revival will begin Monday, Aug. 6 through Wednesday, Aug. 8 with a covered dish supper every night at 6 p.m. and the services at 7 p.m. nightly. Bro. Chris Kynard of Bassetts Creek will be the revival preacher. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 2000 and is currently going to the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Jimmy Simpkins is the pastor.

Indian Ridge

Indian Ridge Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday, Aug. 5 at 11:30 a.m. Revival services will begin Monday, Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The evangelist for the week will be Rev. St. Luke Baptist Church of Grove Hill will have its homecoming Sunday, Aug. 5 and revival Monday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The Sunday evening speaker will be Rev. Bobby Johnson of Gooden Hill Baptist Church of Putnam at 3 p.m. Rev. Delnecca Williams of Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church of Mobile will be the speaker for the week. Rev. Antioch Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday, Aug. 12 beginning with Sunday school at 10 and worship at 11 a.m. Dinner will be at 12 p.m. in the fellowship hall. A singing at 1:30 will feature convention singers of Clarke County. Everyone is invited.

Spencer Chapel

Spencer Chapel A.M.E. Church of Fulton will have its annual homecoming at 11:30 a.m. The speaker will be the presiding elder/pastor, W.T. Lesueur. A revival will follow Monday, Aug. 13-Friday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. nightly. The guest speaker will be Rev. Whalen Oliver, pastor of Lily Baptist of Frisco City and Antioch Baptist and Tunnel Springs, Ala. Joyce Cowan is the secretary. Rev. W.T. Lesueur is the pastor.

Mt. Zion scholarships

Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church will award four $500 scholarships at its Annual Homecoming Service on Aug. 19. Two scholarships will be awarded in the name of the late Bernard Martin and is being sponsored by his family and friends. The other two scholarships are sponsored by Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church. Applications are available and can be obtained by calling or writing the Church. The mailing address of the church is P.O. Box 747, Grove Hill, AL 36451 and the phone number is 251-275-8743. The Bernard Martin scholarship is open to any high school graduate or college student in the Mt. Zion, Winn, St. Luke, or Grove Hill area.

The Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church scholarship is only open to members of Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church. When requesting applications, please indicate the scholarship in which you are interested. Cedar Point

Cedar Point Baptist Church located on Highway 31 in Coffeeville will have homecoming and revival Sunday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Derrick Powell and his congregation of the Good Hope Baptist Church of Salitpa. Cedar Point will also have a revival beginning Monday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Edmond Charleston Jr. of Antioch M.B. Church of Nicholsville will be the speaker for the week. Rev. James Chaney is the pastor.

Ebenezer homecoming

The Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church is located on Highway 84 West, (Clarke County Highway 21) in Coffeeville will have its annual homecoming Sunday, Aug. 19 at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Albert Ridgeway is the speaker. Dinner will be served. Revival services will be Monday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 24 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Rev. Willie Jackson III is the speaker for the week.

St. James

St. James A.M.E. Church of Choctaw Bluff will have its pastor's anniversary Sunday, Aug. 19 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Georgia P. Nash, pastor of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church of Carlton will be the speaker. Rev. Clausell Boykin is the pastor and honoree.
