Moore new Campus Director at Thomasville ASCC

Dr. John A. Johnson, President of Alabama Southern Community College recently named Dr. Matt Moore, of Mobile, as the new Campus Director for the Thomasville Campus of Alabama Southern.

"We are very lucky to have Matt joining our team on the Thomasville campus," said Dr. Johnson. "Matt will be bringing a wealth of knowledge in several different areas, including student development, adult education, student information systems, administration of educational programs and technical education."

Moore received his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, a master's degree in Political Science, Teaching, and his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration. Over the past 18 years, Moore has worked for Auburn University, Louisiana State University, University of Alabama, Dominion Digital Sciences, and the University of South Alabama. He most recently worked in consulting positions with EBM Consulting, an Arch Street Consulting Consortium Partner, out of Mobile.

As a consultant, he traveled to colleges across the United States to aid higher education institutions in the implementation of SunGard SCT Banner, an integrated student information system packaged for colleges and universities. Moore has served in many capacities within higher education including student data conversion, testing and data management, instruction, technical and functional support and database services.

With his strong technical and administrative background, his experience provides a broad base of skills that will contribute to his success in this leadership role.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to work at Alabama Southern," Moore said. "I have always embraced the community colleges mission to serve the communities around them in all types of educational and technical training aspects.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to aid in that mission."

Moore will officially begin on Aug. 6.
