Izora Holcombe May, 97, of Chatom died July 23, 2007 at Washington County Hospital in Chatom.

She was born Oct. 7, 1909 to the parentage of George Holcombe and Mamie Mitchell Holcombe. She was a native of Koenton. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness of Jackson. She retired as a domestic.

Survivors include one son, James (Bessie) May, Uniontown; four daughters, Lodis Ceil (Willie O.) Johnson, Chatom, Mary Ann (Johnny) Flowers, Uniontown, Zora L. (Sterling) McIntyre, Jeanetta Humphrey, all of Birmingham; two sisters, Claudia Donaldson, Chatom, Olivett Bowe, Hollywood, Fla.; 36 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one greatgreat child.

The service was July 27 at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Jackson. Burial was in Easy Hill Cemetery in Koenton. Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
