A Pennsylvania couple was arrested at Deavers Motel in Grove Hill on drug charges Tuesday evening.

Grove Hill Police Department was contacted by City Drugs in reference to a forged prescription Tuesday afternoon and a warrant was issued for the arrest of Todd Eugene Cole.

Officers Daniel Gibson and Buster Hough went to Cole's motel room and asked where the remaining prescription pad was. Cole's wife. Michelle Samantha Cole, led the officers into the room where they saw various drug paraphernalia lying around.

The Clarke County Sheriff's Department was contacted and Narcotics Investigator and K-9 Handler Jim Mundie, K-9 Officer Capon and Chief Investigator Ron Baggette responded.

The dog found various drugs in the room and officers confiscated heroin, marijuana and cocaine residue as well as the drug paraphernalia and prescription pads taken from Grove Hill Healthcare

The couple came here from Pennsylvania to work construction at the LP site. They also had a 10-year-old daughter with them, but she was staying with relatives in another room.

Todd Cole was charged with attempt to commit a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia use/possession.

Michelle Cole was charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, second degree and drug paraphernalia use/possession.
