Fifty-three teenaged girls from across the state participated in the event which culminated with the naming of the new Miss Teen of Alabama State Titleholder Mary Catherine Goodwin of Tuscaloosa.

The young woman selected as Miss Teen of Alabama receives a $1,000 cash scholarship, a $1,000 educational savings bond and a $250 grant to present to her high school on behalf of the Miss Teen of America Pageant. She will also have the opportunity to compete for the National Title of Miss Teen of America and vie for scholarships and prizes valued a $20,000.00.

Special guest at the event was Miss Teen of Alabama 2005-2006, Roxanna Sabghi of Huntsville. National Director, Patrick Liestman stated, "Roxanna Sabghi has done an excellent job representing all of the accomplished young women of Alabama. She will be an excellent mentor for Miss Teen of Alabama, 2007 as well as all of the 2007 candidates."
