Historical Society to meet

The Clarke County Historical Society will meet Sunday, Aug. 26 at 2:30 p.m. at the Grove Hill Town Hall. The guest speaker will be well-known storyteller, Wanda Johnson of Fairhope. Ms. Johnson will tell of the importance of storytelling and how stories can touch hearts, lift spirits and teach powerful life lessons. Her appearance is part of the Road Scholars program of the Alabama Humanities Foundation. The public is invited to attend.

VFW to meet

VFW Post 5106 and its Ladies Auxiliary will hold its regular meeting Monday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. at the post home on 555 Old Highway 5 South in Thomasville.. All members are invited to this important meeting.

Farmers Federation meeting

The Clarke County Farmers Federation will hold its annual meeting Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Alfa Building on 148 S. Jackson Street in Grove Hill. A social hour will follow. Door prizes will be awarded during the meeting.

Parden family reunion

The Parden family reunion will be Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Bethel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Coffeeville.

Harrison family reunion

The Levi S. Harrison family reunion will be Monday, Sept. 3, Labor Day, at the Chilton Baptist Church. A covered dish lunch will be served. A gospel singing after lunch will complete the day. All family and friends are invited to attend.

C'ville RSVP to meet

The Coffeeville RSVP will meet Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Nutrition Center. Everyone is invited to attend and bring a friend.

CVFD shrimp boil

The Coffeeville Volunteer Fire Department will be having a shrimp boil Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10:30 a.m. until. It will be at the intersection of Highway 84 East and 69 South. The cost will be $10 per plate or $10 per pound cooked or $5 per pound raw. In case of rain it will be moved to the fire station on Spring Street.

WHHS Class of 1968

The Wilson Hall High School Class of 1968 will celebrate its 39th year reunion beginning Friday, Oct. 19 through Saturday, Oct. 21, 2007 in Grove Hill. CCHS reserve seats for sale

Anyone who wishes to reserve seats for the C.C.H.S. football season should contact Ann Baugh at 251-275-3368 or 334-636- 2338. The cost per seat is $10.
