Bridges

Desmond Eugene "Deb" Bridges, 80, of Arlington died Aug. 17, 2007 at George County Regional Hospital in Lucedale, Miss.

He was born Feb. 13, 1927 in Coy. He was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Bridges, Arlington; two sons, George (Ann) Strickland, Lucedale, Miss., Robert (Christina) Strickland, Slocomb; three daughters, Mary Voigt, Hope Hull, Patricia Hatcher, Troy, Deborah (Andy) Bertagnolli, Ashford; one daughter-in-law, Jeanie Strickland, Mobile; two brothers, Glover Bridges, J.B. Bridges, both of Pensacola, Fla., four sisters, Ethel Gill, Mobile, Margurite Allday, Grove Hill, Sybil Kam, Pensacola, Fla., Nell Stokes, Linden; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The service was Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. with Revs. David Murray and Donald Hatcher officiating. Burial was in the Arlington UMC Cemetery. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were Tony Harrelson, Robert Strickland, James Strickland, Jason Strickland, Daniel Strickland, Aaron Bertagnolli, Gordon Hatcher and Allen Turner.

Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Strickland, Abe Cook, John Criswell, Harry Mason, Kenon Agee, Ted Bertagnolli, Willie Armstrong, Willard Powe and Jimmy Williams.
