Babes open volleyball season with win over Escambia Co.

MeMe Martin digs a ball as the Babes beat Escambia County Monday afternoon to open the 2007 volleyball season. CCHS played Millry Tuesday and hosts Monroe County Thursday.
The Clarke County High School Babes volleyball team opened the season Monday afternoon by hosting Escambia County.

The Babes came out on top with a 25-14, 25-13 and 25-12 victory.

Jessica Johnson had eight assists, three aces, three tips and a dig. MeMe Martin had nine assists, three aces and a tip. Nikki Williams had three kills, four aces, two digs and a tip. Celeste Malone had a kill and three aces. Hannah Barnes had two kills, three aces and two tips. Jasmine Morris added a kill, an assist, eight aces and two digs.

The Babes traveled to Millry Tuesday afternoon to take on the Lady Wildcats.

Thursday (today) they host Monroe County. That match starts at 4 p.m. in Grove Hill.
