The Clarke Prep varsity Lady Gators took the best-of-five series against the visiting Lady Eagles last Thursday night 25- 16; 25-7; 25-14, concentrating on accuracy of their shots instead of trying to drill the ball against their opponents.

The Lady Gators are ranked second in the newly released statewide volleyball poll, behind defending Class AAA champ, Cottage Hill.

For the Clarke Prep Lady Gators, Corrie Allen had 15 aces, 10 kills and seven assists.

Tess Ackerman had eight assists and four aces. Rachel Mayton was 21-for-21 on her serves, serving five aces.

The Lady Gators had a team passing average of 74 percent, and a serving percentage of 93 percent.
