Fulton Council to have street, parking lot resurfaced

The Fulton Town Council voted Tuesday night to spend an additional $40,000 on resurfacing a parking lot and city street.

Approximately $20,000 will be added to the bid of $11,272 from Mitchell's Contracting of Catherine to pave an eight-foot wide recreation trail and parking lot at the old school. An additional $20,000 will be spent on Centerline Road.

In other action from the council meeting, payments to Webb Contractors in the amounts of $1,200, $300 and $633.20 for culverts used in the recent sidewalk project.

• Approximately $1,710 was approved for a shed to house a city truck and tractor, and $107.80 in annual dues were paid to the Alabama Tombigbee regional Commission.

• A donation of $500 was approved for the Child Advocacy Center in Grove Hill.

• The annual Fire and Rescue Fall Gospel Singing will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 in the downtown area. Admission is free. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Fulton school auditorium.

• The Clarke County Development Foundation will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 18 in downtown Fulton.
