Chance & Scyrene
Tyrone and Andre Jackson are the sons of Mrs. Taite's dec eased daughter, Diane. They along with a family friend, Anthony Jordan enjoyed visiting their grandmother and traveling with her to Mobile to sightsee and visit other family and friends. They also enjoyed a trip to the mall and doing some shopping locally. Tyrone traveled from Costa Rica where he works as a language instructor. He was featured in an article that I wrote last year. Andre, who graduated from college in May, lives in Illinois. He earned his degree in International Business and will begin work soon. Family friend Anthony Jordan lives in Topeka, Kansas. Mrs. Taite enjoyed their visit very much. A few weeks ago Mrs. Taite's granddaughters returned to California after doing missionary work in New Guinea. They traveled there with their youth minister and missionary group to teach Christianity to the New Guinea outback natives. While there they would spend their weekends and any other free time in Sydney, Australia. LaDonna and Selkit Taite are the daughters of Mrs. Taite's son, Charlie James Taite, aka "Jr. Man." The young ladies treasure their experience as working missionaries and look forward to other trips. Happy Birthday! Greetings are extended to the following community members who are celebrating their birthday during the month of September: Joann Anderson- 9/28, Sharon Packer-9/5, Courtney Dotson-9/7, Regina Kidd-9/24, Cecil Maiben-9/16, Charles Maiben-9/16, Donovan Marshall- 9/29, Marie Marshall-9/7, Jerry Morrissette-9/10, Sam Morrissette 9/26, Willie Marshall-9/10, Al Edwards-9/6, Duana Morrissette 9/14, Marion Lesuere-9/18, N'seya Morrissette-9/22, Ozzie Morrissette-9/12, Assa Morrissette 9/16, Starleigh Morrissette- 9/25, Ozell Weatherly-9/13. Bernice Taite Calhoun reports that the Taite/Tate family reunion held at Belsaw Mt. Vernon School near the end of July was a huge success. Over 200 relatives gathered for a Mardi Gras themed reunion. Many of those present felt that this was the largest gathering of the family ever held. Beads, umbrellas and moon pies set the tone for the weekend. People traveled from approximately 12 different states to be there. Bernice was the host and appreciates all of the cooperation that various family members and friends contributed in making this reunion a success. The next reunion is scheduled to be held in Birmingham.
Please continue to pray for family and community members who are recovering from recent illness: Carl Chapman, Dot Dotson, Nellie Galamb, Dorothy Carlton, Evelean Taite, Mamie Westry, Grace Haskew, Maxie Taite, Monroe Kidd, Loretta Harper, J.D.
