Message from the Headmaster

It is a great honor to be writing this note as the headmaster of Clarke Prep School. My wife and I are proud to be a member of the school's family.

I have always looked at our AISA schools as an extended family. We are there to nurture, guide, participate, and lead in all areas of life. Clarke Prep has the reputation of being this kind of school.

I know there are many changes this year. Most are small changes, actually minor adjustments. I once heard that if you never changed you would not improve and grow stagnate. Clarke Prep is going to improve academically and athletically. We are going to provide better services for students and parents by adding new features like homeworknow.com and the new Hunter Systems for the office. These new additions along with other innovations are going to improve the scope and sequence of courses to better benefit our students.

We have already started planning for the future of our school. New ideas in curriculum improvernent are being developed and initiated. A better teacher inservice program is already being used. The past has been great and the foundation for growth has been laid. I am proud to be part of this great school and look forward to being an innovator in its even greater future.

Library

Please remember to send in your can Campbell's Soup labels. (Please note that Campbell's is now requiring UPC Codes only. Please check the label carefully as many of the labels are now worth more than one label. Cut out every thing that pertains to how much the label is worth and include the UPC code), Box Tops, (some boxes have a bonus box tops on the front of the box) and Tyson Foods A+ Project Labels (on bags or boxes of Tyson chicken.

CPS is also collecting empty ink cartridges, cell phones, laptops and Palm Pilots (PDS's), game systems, games and digital cameras. There is a company that will pick these up and recycle them and send the school cash. There are boxes in each building to put these in. If you know any person or business that could collect these for the school, it would be appreciative. Any questions? Call Cynthia McLendon at 275-8576.

The library welcomes honorariums and memorial books. If you are interested in putting a book in the library in honor of one of our students or faculty members, contact Cynthia McLendon in the library.
