Carter

Erline L. Carter, 74, of Campbell died Sept. 3, 2007 at Mobile Infirmary.

She was born Nov. 21, 1932 in Campbell. She was a member of Witch Creek Baptist Church. She was a retired administrative officer with the First United Security Bank.

Survivors include her husband, William Gaines Carter, Campbell; his mother, Myrtie Toland Loper, Campbell; one brother, H.J. Loper, Thomasville, one sister, Mae Parden, Grove Hill; five nephews, Larry Parden, Garry Parden, Mark Mercy, Jonathan Loper, Anthony Loper; two nieces, Kim McLendon, Karen Fleming.

The service was Sept. 5 at 3 p.m. at Witch Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Curtis Thomas, John Merck and Mike Maloy officiating. Burial was in the Witch Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Campbell. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were John Loper, Anthony Loper, Mark Mercy, Stewart Hoven, Harold Hoven, Danny Hoven, John L. Carter and Will Betancourt.

Honorary pallbearers were Ken McLendon, Frank Daniels, Sam Shields, S.P. Carter, Larry Parden, Garry Parden, Sidney Hoven and the employees of the First United Security Bank and members of the Witch Creek Hunting Club.
