Missing man found dead Monday
By Kathryn F. Pickard News Reporter

A man missing since the middle of last week was found dead Monday just off Hebron Road in Grove Hill.

Family members became concerned when Glen Vann, 57, did not show up for work last Thursday. He had been living in a camper in a trailer park on Hebron Road.

Area lawmen began searching for him Sunday. Vann's approximate location was tracked through his cell phone, which was plugged into his car and was receiving text messages.

"We determined he was south of the tower. We started looking close to the tower, in the woods. Deputy Patrick Champion found him in a field about two miles down the Hebron Road," Clarke County Sheriff's Department Investigator Ron Baggette said.

A gun was found in the vehicle with Vann, but it was not certain if he had been shot. His body was sent to the forensic lab in Mobile.

Baggette said no foul play is suspected.

Agencies involved in the search were the Clarke County Sheriff's Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals.
